Two Years Later

The Main Character [MC] is driving through a residential neighborhood when Mom calls. She taps the screen to accept the call.

Mom: “Hi [MC], the whole extended family is heading to [Place] for two weeks this May. You can join us!”

MC: “Hi, Mom, that sounds fun! Yes, I do want to go.”

She wants to travel to her place of origin but soon realizes that she has not seen her passport card.

MC: “Oh no, I don’t know where my passport card is…”

Mom: “Let’s look for it. I’m counting you in. They will order the plane tickets this Sunday. I have to go now. Bye, honey.”

This Sunday is four days away. This May is six weeks away.

The Main Character [MC] taps the phone screen to call Mom back.

Mom: “Hi [MC], I found your passport card!”

MC: “Hi, Mom. You found it! Where did you find it?!”

Mom: “I found it in the storage behind the driveway.”

MC: “Mom. What?! I’m sad to hear you went in there alone. It is dusty, dirty, and likely a lot of spiders.”

She’s thinking about the daunting condition inside that storage the last time she opened its door. She’s feeling stern.

MC: “That storage is not a one-person thing to do. I wish we could’ve discussed the storage together.”

Mom: “I looked through a couple of bags, and it fell out from one. I’m so happy we can go together.”

MC: “Thank you, Mom. I have to go, I will call you tonight. Bye!”
